Explotech distributes Instantel digital seismographs, blast analysis instrumentation and Blastware/THOR products.

Explotech was integral in the development of the Instantel seismograph and remains one of North America’s largest distributors of the Instantel product line. The current Instantel lineup consists of the Micromate and Minimate Pro series seismographs.

In addition to sales of all Instantel products, Explotech custom manufacturers accessories and sensors tailored to specific requirements. 

Explotech holds a large fleet of Instantel seismographs for rental purposes on a first-come-first-served basis. This rental fleet includes Micromate, Minimate Pro and Minimate Plus (Series III) seismographs and accessories.

Explotech owns multiple Bruel & Kjaer Type 2250 sound level meters available for rent on a first-come-first-served basis. Designed for environmental, occupational, and industrial application fields, the 2250 is equipped with a combination of software modules and hardware to provide a solution for the task at hand. 



The 2250 is a compact and rugged class 1 hand-held analyzer that has a large dynamic range (120+ dB) and a frequency range of 4.2Hz to 22.4kHz. The 2250 holds the ability to provide simultaneous A, C, and Z frequency weighting. Outputting LAeq, LAf, or LAs and the ability to record and attach samples of the measured signal to your measurements (mp3), the 2250 provides a solution for your problems.
