Pre-Construction and Pre-Blast Inspections

Pre-construction and pre-blast inspections alleviate concerns expressed by property owners in close proximity to construction and blasting operations. These inspections provide a baseline for assessing and evaluating damage claims during and following the completion of construction and blasting works.

Explotech’s pre-construction and pre-blast inspection programs utilize 1080i HD and digital video documentation of the interior and exterior conditions of the properties within a predetermined radius of proposed works. This documentation is intended to provide a representative sampling of the current conditions and is not to be interpreted as an exhaustive detailing of all pre-existing deficiencies.

Vibration Monitoring

Explotech has provided vibration monitoring consulting services since 1978. With roots in seismograph development, we provide unparalleled experience and extensive knowledge as a competitive advantage. 

Remote vibration monitoring is provided as a turnkey service. Explotech provides seismograph installation, maintenance, removal, and data analysis to ensure your project remains compliant with project specifications and local regulations while providing real-time data.

The units are programmed to upload data to Blastvibrations.com and Constructionvibrations.com on a daily basis. In the event that the vibrations approach the predetermined threshold, the unit will immediately upload data to the cloud to provide an immediate notification and event reporting directly to your email address.

Explotech has demonstrated monitoring proficiency on residential and commercial structures, watermains, storm sewers, gas lines and some of the most historic structures across Canada. Whether vibration monitoring is required through our remote system or an onsite technician, Explotech’s engineers and technical support staff are available to meet your unique monitoring needs.

Noise Monitoring

Explotech provides noise monitoring services to ensure your project remains compliant with specific contractual obligations and municipal guidelines. 

Long-term remote monitoring is programmed on an autonomous dissemination system that provides real-time viewing of noise levels and the autonomous distribution of warning and exceedance events. These notifications are automatically forwarded directly to any number of email accounts. The noise monitoring equipment consists of a Type 1 sound level meter to measure and record LAeq, LAmax, etc. and is equipped with the ability to record audio to distinguish between construction operations and anomalous readings.

Explotech provides turn-key noise monitoring including installation, maintenance, removal, and reporting of the noise monitoring terminal.
